Performer: Studio is the fifth and final studio album by the group Tages, released in 1967 on Parlophone in Sweden. It was notable for producing the first gatefold album packaging from an artist/group original to that country. Work on Studio was generally sporadic across 1967, with most of it being completed in the fall (October–November).

Given how huge they were in their native Sweden, it’s surprising how long it has taken this 1967 album by Tages to gain a UK release - not least because it’s a record in palpable thrall to the nascent psych-pop boom that radiated out from here. The floaty Mellotrons of The Old Man Wafwer is a case in point, while songs such as Have you Seen your Brother Lately and She’s Having a Baby Now are punchier companion pieces to the self-titled album released by David Bowie the same year. A magnificent period piece.
