The Rolling Stones' Steel Wheels Tour was a concert tour which was launched in North America in August 1989 to promote the band's album Steel Wheels; it continued to Japan in February 1990, with ten shows at the Tokyo Dome. The European leg of the tour, which featured a different stage and logo, was called the Urban Jungle Tour; it ran from May to August 1990. These would be the last live concerts for the band with original member Bill Wyman on bass guitar.
Steel Wheels is the 19th British and 21st American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1989 and the final album of new material the band would record for Columbia Records. Heralded as a major comeback upon its release, the project is notable for the patching up of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards' relationship, a reversion to a more classic style of music and the launching of the band's biggest world tour at the time.

Recorded in Montserrat and London in spring, before launching into the band's biggest ever world tour to date, Steel Wheels is the closest the band ever came to a comeback album. Hearts For Sale ratchets things up a bit in the ‘The Stones play The Stones’ selection on Steel Wheels. The Steel Wheels tour, which itself metamorphosed halfway through to become the Urban Jungle tour, was the first of the really big tours for which the contemporary Rolling Stones are now most admired.
The British version of the Stones' first album has a nearly identical cover to its American equivalent, issued six weeks later, but a slightly different song lineup. it's the long version, with the break that was cut from the single, but the British LP and the original late-'80s Decca .
