Once again topping the Billboard 200, the record is seen as a cohesive, creative, and progressive album for the group which lends infleunces from gothic rock, nu metal, and electro. The Self-Titled Album trope as used in popular culture. Their self-titled debut album was followed by "The Rolling Stones N. ". Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's first album is self-titled and self-released. Their third album, released after they were picked up by Interscope, is officially titled "Americana Deluxe" per the liner notes, but since the only text on the front cover is the band's name it's often thought to be self-titled as well. To make matters even more confusing, both the self-titled album and Americana Deluxe contain many of the same songs  . The self-titled track is a journey through groove, prog and heavy metal to create a wall of sound that encapsulates the e attack that Great Leap Skyward produce with their music. Written and produced by frontman Luke Besley and mastered by the legendary Ermin Hamidovic (Periphery, Plini, Animals As Leaders, Devin Townsend), ‘Map Of Broken Dreams’ is a refreshing, yet aggressive take on progressive metal that is sure to turn a few heads. Map of Broken Dreams is an intense, layered progressive metal album with instruments and influences from all walks of music, creating a unique aesthetic and atmosphere. The combination of sounds and features from across genres external to metal gives a unique experience unlike any metal album you’ve previously heard and defies classification or bounds to one genre.

Now-defunct Toronto band Broken Social Scene’s self-titled album turns 10 this month. The album, their third release, came at a formative time in the lives of three Inverse scribes, so they decided to have a chat about what it all meant. Sean Hutchinson: It kind of blows my mind that Broken Social Scene is 10 years. NP: It’s funny that you mention Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade - I’m starting to realize just how much Canada’s music scene influenced my suburban American adolescence. I definitely think the self-titled album was the band’s best work. And it’s because of what I said before - this album aged so well, better than any of their other albums. I think that’s because it’s harder to pin down. It’s stranger, murkier, and weaves through more kinds of sounds and noises than the other albums did.

The rest of the album follows suit, with a couple slower, dreamier tracks allowing a welcome chance to catch your breath. It has all the makings of a late-90s underground cult hit record, but after a modest amount of spotlight, with some dates opening for Treble Charger and By Divine Right, and a video for Anyways/Mayonnaise getting some pretty heavy rotation on Much Music, TS&LC just kind of disappeared. Near the end of the album on Jaded and Elated, Churko sings, I thought that rock guitar could save my generation. VICE Canada has a Newsletter.
